The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) on February 27, 2026, issued a circular regarding the Guidelines for Operational Activities - to be followed by Point of Presence (PoPs) performing activities of Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
The following has been stated: -
•Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has issued revised operational guidelines under Section 14 of the PFRDA Act, 2013, for Points of Presence handling Atal Pension Yojana (PoP-APY).
•The guidelines, effective from April 01, 2026, supersede earlier instructions and cover service standards, onboarding, contribution management, grievance redressal, exit processing, and reporting.
•PoP-APY must adhere to defined TATs, compensate subscribers for operational lapses, prevent duplicate accounts, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and government notifications.
•Entities are required to update systems/processes accordingly, with first reporting under the revised framework applicable from the half-year ending September 2026.
